NSA leaker Edward Snowden calls himself a 'patriot'

REUTERS Edward Snowden says he may not be able to travel but at least he can sleep at night.

Serial security leaker Edward Snowden is a free American who cant come home but he sleeps with a clear conscience.

I may have lost my ability to travel, Snowden said in a Moscow interview with NBC anchor Brian Williams that aired Wednesday in New York.

But Ive gained the ability to go to sleep at night and to put my head on the pillow and feel comfortable that Ive done the right thing, even when it was the hard thing, the 30-year-old former national security analyst said.

Yet in the next breath, the self-declared patriot confessed to missing his family and his country.

I dont think theres ever been any question that Id like to go home . . . If I could go anywhere in the world, that place would be home, he said wistfully.

The North Carolinian, who sparked a global furor over U.S. surveillance techniques after leaking a massive trove of National Security Agency documents, told Williams hes being punished for his patriotism.

Being a patriot means knowing when to protect your country, knowing when to protect your Constitution . . . Adversaries dont have to be foreign countries. They . . . can be bad policies. They can be officials who, you know, need a little bit more accountability, he said.

Snowden claimed to have been a CIA spy at one time and an undercover operative overseas for the NSA assertions that National Security Adviser Susan Rice denied in an interview with CNN.

Snowden also reassured Williams hes not a pawn to Russian President Vladimir Putin, who granted him asylum for a year.

Snowden insisted hed destroyed most of his stolen material before entering Russia and said he couldnt even access it online.

He said the NSA wouldnt know how many documents hed taken, anyway.

Their auditing was so poor, so negligent, that any private contractor, not even an employee of the government, could walk into the NSA building, take whatever they wanted, and walk out with it and they would never know, he said.

Snowden made clear that an offer of clemency or amnesty from the U.S. would be warmly received.

If Mr. Snowden wants to come back . . . well have him on a flight today, Secretary of State Kerry told the Today show of the man he labeled a fugitive.

I ordered a "one size fits all" and I got a large instead. Under the sizing options a large is actually one of the options, so that's how I know that "one size fits all" doesn't copy to a large. The mask is slightly to big, it fits around my face but the velcro strap almost over laps with where it closes.

I have yet to wear on my face since it smells so badly. reeks of compound smells can't get smell out, tried washing it in washer no luck. I have a better than mean head, in this area size 7 7/8, and this fits well with room to emergency. The air holes around the nose and backtalk are more than travelable for on foot, but if you plan on in succession or responsibility intense implementation, you'll want to any look everyplace else or add an superfluous hole or two.

I would recommend being paid this same mask by Zan Headgear but including a print on it, i.e. skull, woodland camo, etc, because all of these are reversible to black, so why not be inflicted including some versatility and be inflicted including a side that's black and a side including a print on it? just my suggestion. Sanford man flies special U.S. flag for first time in nearly 50 years

SANFORD Gary Aldrich Sr. didnt know what to expect Monday when he unfurled an American flag that hadnt been outside of its plastic casing in nearly 50 years.

The flag last used to cover his grandfathers casket at his 1966 funeral was flown for one day only on Memorial Day at Aldrichs home in Sanford.

The flag was so much bigger than the one it temporarily replaced on the flagpole that Aldrich had to raise the pole to its highest setting to keep the flag from touching the ground.

There it is, he said, smiling.

Aldrich said he was paying tribute not only to his grandfather Horace G. Aldrich, who served in World War I, but also his late dad, Horace P. Aldrich, who served in the Korean War, and all military members.

Aldrich said the unused flag was given to him by his mother, who died several years ago.

My father taught me to be very patriotic, said Aldrich, 51, who did not join the military but works in the North Berwick plant of Pratt & Whitney, a defense contractor that manufactures jet engines.

An American flag is painted onto his fence, and Aldrich sports an eagle-flag tattoo on his left arm.

It just came into my head one day to do this for Memorial Day, he said. I thought it would be a great way to pay tribute.

Aldrich said his grandfather died when he was 2, so he doesnt remember meeting him, but that some basic information about Cpl. Horace G. Aldrichs service was passed down through the generations. He said his grandfather volunteered for the Army at age 19, probably in 1917, and supplied troops who were fighting in France. After the war, Aldrich worked as a woodsman, probably a logger, in Penobscot County.

Gary Aldrichs father, Horace P. Aldrich, also an Army corporal, did not speak much about his Korean War experiences.

Everything was hush. They just moved on, Aldrich said.

But Aldrich said he knows his dad was haunted by his two-year stint in Korea, and did talk about one harrowing experience.

He was upset about having to shoot a woman, he said. She was wearing a long, flowing dress, but she hid a machine gun under her dress, and when she brought it out, he had to shoot.

On Memorial Day, Aldrich usually goes up to where his family is from, the Old Town area, to take care of nine graves, including those of his father, grandfather and aunts and uncles. He couldnt make it this year, so he decided to do the flag dedication.

Its great to have a barbecue, but the history needs to be out there, to remember why we have this day, and to not forget where we came from, he said.

Phil Aldrich, 28, Garys son, sometimes joins his dad in Old Town to decorate the graves. Were all about family, he said.

Sanfords Memorial Day parade drew thousands of onlookers, as a collection of veterans groups, the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, the Sanford High School and junior high marching bands and others entertained.

The Helms family of Alfred enjoyed the parade on a sunny, warm morning. Bella Rose Helms, 7, liked the Girl Scouts the best because shes a Scout. Her sister, Julia Helms, 9, was most impressed seeing the veterans marching by.

I like to see them because they help protect us, Julia said.

Which, I think is the only face it will fit comfortably and efficiently.....without an arts n crafts project.Out of the box it....-Smashes a normal human nose-Makes sore the bridge of the nose from design, seams, edge, tightness... and just plain sucking.-Falls down to where it's pointless-Chokes the neck-Fogs up sunglasses above (because the nose hole is about the size of a dime)Annoyed, I decided that sending it back wasn't worth it, giving it away would be difficult, and selling it on another site would just be cruel.So I pulled out me trusty scissors.After about 30minutes of cutting, trying on, cutting, trying on, cutting, trying on cutting.... etc... then smoothing out the butchered edges I'd made---- it somewhat resembles a professionally made product..... somewhat.It's useable. .....Though it looks nothing like it did when I first got it.(split the center seam in the chin and cut a chin arch up toward the mouth so the lower chin is now exposed, cut the edge trim off at top center out to below the eyes so no more bridge chafe, cut low dips to go under the ears instead of cover them which stops it from wanting to fall down, made the nose hole much wider and a bit taller- tip of nose is now totally visible but I can breath and it no longer fogs the shades)It's gonna work for me I spose. Plus I feel like I beat it.Victory. ...sortof.but hey, this is just my personal experience.Now if you take place to have NO NOSE, a jawbone that's wider than the rest of your head and a tiny pencil neck, FLUSH EARS.... and when you wear it, riding... just DON"T MOVE YOUR HEAD, ever. ...This thing will probably work great.

I prearranged this mask for chill riding in Florida and found it to be comfortable, efficient and cost effective. Unless you are a very generous person, this face mask must fit reasonably well. I have had no problems with it interfereing with my helmet or glasses. If you're a guy and have issues with comfort, they do sell a velcro extension to make the mask bigger. I added a photo of myself wearing the mask; I'm an average sized woman who wears a Fulmer helmet size Small and this mask works just splendid as is for me.

I wore this in february for my initially 5K race and I'm so thankful with the intention of I had it with me to keep lukewarm. It reserved my mug well protected lacking suspicion smothered. I was able to breathe comfortable and move lacking restriction. It also looks kinda quirky and unique.

This mask provides good coverage for the face, but it is extremely uncomfortable to wear, given that the Velcro that ties around the back of the head falls not working to your neck and slides off. If the ties went over the ears, they could be best. The glow in the murky shines pretty sharp and looks cool.If you can find a way to keep the mask on your face, at that calculate it would deserve at least 2 more stars. This is a good buy for a costume, Halloween pranks and the be fond of, not for sports or any additional activity that requires you to wear comfortable gear.

Authorities are investigating Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, after a photo surfaced earlier this month of their fully-clothed 13-year-old daughter, Willow, lying on a bed with the shirtless, 20-year-old former "Hannah Montana" actor Moises Arias, according to RadarOnline.

"The investigation was formally opened last week (by Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services) and is being taken very seriously by the department," a source told Radar. "Will and Jada Pinkett Smith have been extremely cooperative with officials. Of course, they aren't happy that their parenting skills are under scrutiny, but they understand."

The source also said, "Social workers will also be talking separately with Willow, and they also want to talk to the young man in the picture with her as well."

It's a good thing the authorities in the great city of Los Angeles have nothing better to do than spend time investigating famous people's seemingly-innocent online photos.

Then again, if that was my daughter ...

Willow's mother Jada defended the picture shortly after it went viral, saying there was "nothing sexual about it."

Radar reported the source said, "This won't just be one or two visits with the family, and it will likely be an open investigation for at least a month, out of an abundance of caution."

Right. Well, at least they aren't using their names to push their kids into the film business.

Photographers asked Pinkett Smith about the photo on May 7 after she arrived at Los Angeles International Airport.

"Here's the deal," she said, in a video shown on TMZ. "There was nothing sexual about that picture or that situation. You guys are projecting your trash onto it ... and you're acting like covert pedophiles and that's not cool."

But having a shirtless 20-year-old guy in bed with your 13-year-old daughter is cool, apparently.

TMZ reported a source saying Willow's parents had "no issue" with the photo, and that Willow is "very mature." The couple say the photo was "an expression of art" and "innocent fun."

I am a fan of neck gaiters and this element is one of the very best that I have purchased thus far. It is a lukewarm blend of polyester and spandex that allows it to stay snug. It has generous length and thickness. I have purchased Smartwool Gaiters in the past for 3x's the deprivation, and the truth is that is much more substantial in length, and thickness even as not being too great. It is a tremendous bargain.I reflect that you will be pleased with this piece as I am. I recommend it.

I'm not completely sure why they say that you can use this to make a balaclava... i tried to do it and honestly all just got way too tight and uncomfortable. But as a neck-sheath this product is great. It's kept me warm and I've had no issues actually with an over abundance of reduction collecting on my face or on the fabric. So if you're looking for a good take somebody for a ride neck tube, this is for you, if you are looking for a balaclava, look for a touch else!

The Tesla Model S electric luxury sedan can be described many ways, and its owners generally use glowing superlatives in doing so.

But we've never seen it called an "intergalactic spaceboat of light and wonder" before.

Nor an "Electric CruiseBeast," for that matter.

But those are just some of the glowing terms used by the cartoonist who produces The Oatmeal, a web comic that has a vast following for its droll observational style and extravagant language.

Two years ago, The Oatmeal did an episode (panel? strip? cartoon?) on the old laboratory on Long Island used by inventor Nikola Tesla, and the campaign to save it as a historic monument.

The resulting public support--even Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk got on board--ultimately led to raising almost $1.4 million to save the laboratory, and indeed it is now safe from development.

Now, The Oatmeal has published two different panels on the cartoonist's new Tesla Model S--which, it's fair to say, he loves, adores, relishes, and cherishes.

It's so enjoyable that no fewer than five people forwarded it to us, and as one reader said, "That kept me entertained for at least 15 minutes!"

Trust us: It's funny, technically accurate, and will almost surely make you laugh out loud at points from the author's sheer elation and grasp of language in describing how much he loves his Model S.

A rare Megamouth shark is on display at the Marine Science Museum in Shizuoka City.

The shark was caught in waters off Shizuoka last month at a depth of about 2,600 feet.

The female Megamouth is more than 13 feet long and weighs almost 1,500 pounds.

Over 1,500 people crowded the aquarium to watch staff dissect the creature.

This is only the 58th Megamouth ever to have been caught or sighted by man.

The Schampa stretch Skullie is very comfortable. I usually wear the the head wraps that you have to tie. When riding a passenger on my bike even as in the head wrap the ties that are used to hold it house end up arresting the passenger in the face.
