Not remember the like, sleek, black, polyester gear from those expensive open-air companies. Give me good old-fashioned wool any day. This isn't the softest wool in the planet but is not uncomfortable and is very comfortable. I'm 6'2" and have a sweet big head, and this fits fine. It doesn't come down to cover my neck all the way in the front, but does hang in front of it and I can tuck it into a zipped up coat or complement it with a scarf. I bike to work in a cold, northeastern city, and even on days at 20 degrees, this does the job and keeps me warm, AND fits under my helmet. My breath tends to wet the spot in front of my backtalk, but as it's wool, it maintains its durability and love even then. It even catches any unfortunate nose drippings, the kind that a polyester balaclava wouldn't. Is it gross? Maybe, but better than smearing on polyester or in succession down into my backtalk. I can't judge this was such an incredible deal. Five or six bucks for incredibly durable wind and cold protection? Sold.
