The Schampa "Silk" is not silk at all. Looking frankly at the manufacturers categorize as I type, "Schampa Silk 93% Micro Modal 7% Spandex www.schampa.com made in Mexico" So this "silk" is not silk and is not even very silk like in it's scenery. The one size fits all is quite snug on my XL head. It is not that this item is terrible, it is not. It is a clad quality balaclava, lighter weight than most cotton but heavier than silk. Some people would like it, if their expectations were for a in tears polyester like. Had I been able to inspect it in self like the other Schampa bits and pieces I have enjoyed in the past I would have bought another model. I contacted the Amazon seller. They sympathetically endorsed an exchange stating that they pulled the wrong item. I ended up spending my time and paying restore shipping for myself. They returned another one to me----over again this is NOT SILK as advertised.

This is a nice, lightweight balaclava. I have only worn it once (the weather superior after I purchased it), but was very happy with it.

Very helpful piece to have if you wear a helmet. Lightweight and efficient. Wads up easily to fit into small sack so it's there as you need it.

I bought this for someone else, and they say that it is nice and warm. It's not as smooth as habitual silk (I reflect there are some synthetics superfluous), so that was a little disappointing. The recipient of the gift has sensitive skin. At least it's not a manufactured goods that you're expected to wear all day, so it's fine.
